Thandizo Plus
Thandizo Plus Policy is a Family Funeral Plan offered by Smile Life partnership with Funeral Parlours such as KUHES Funeral Parlour, Taprama Funeral Services in the Southern Region, Dignity and Chimb’wambw’a Funeral Services in Central Region and Mzuzu Funeral Services in Northern Region. It is an all-embracing funeral plan for people who are articulate planners in life and those who care for their families. The product is meant for those that do not want to leave the burden of their family funeral arrangements to relatives, friends or neighbours.
Who is Covered?
- Principal Member and Spouse – up to age 75
- Biological Children – up to age 24
- Dependent Children & Relations (Brothers, Sisters, Nephews, Nieces, etc.) – up to age 24
- Parents and Parents-in-law – up to age 70 at entry, exit at age 75
Benefits (Funeral Services)
In the event of death, the sum assured is paid for funeral expenses through:
- Southern Region (Blantyre): KUHES Funeral Parlour, Taprama Funeral Services
- Central Region (Lilongwe): Dignity, Chimb’wamb’wa Funeral Services
- Northern Region (Mzuzu): Mzuzu Funeral Services
Services Include:
- Supply of coffin
- Tents and chairs at funeral home and/or graveyard
- Supply of food
- Wreaths
- Public address system
- Body cremation
- Grave digging and burial
- Body transportation: hospital → mortuary → funeral home
- Mourners’ transport from funeral home to church/mosque and burial site
Note: Services vary depending on the option selected by the member.
Cover & Premiums
- Minimum Cover: MK 300,000.00
- Maximum Cover: MK 2,500,000.00
- Premiums: Paid monthly in advance.
